Midsummer greetings… from Portugal! Last posting was all about goals; new changes for myself and Q the Stylist. We mentioned exciting new updates were in the works and we are happy to announce that they have made their mark! Our updates begin with an revised newsletter (can you tell!?), a fresh new website, an updated menu, and a new booking system Chanel calls “glorious.” You could say our mantra is manifesting efficiency.

In the quarterly, Wardrobe Builder replaces This Season’s Trends and will highlight a versatile piece (sometimes a few different versions of it) that works with every style. Weather it’s a better cut, incredible fabrication, a new concept piece, or just a fresh take on classic these wardrobe builders will help you advance your wardrobe and get dressed easily more than any passing trend. We hope you enjoy this new feature!

If you have explored the site recently, you may have noticed there are new images throughout and we have visually refreshed the home page, services page and about page. Take a peak! As exciting as visual site changes are, we didn’t quite stop there..after feedback and years of refining how we work together, Q has an improved menu! As always, we still have the A la Carte services (can’t change things up too much!), however, we’ve added a few services to the menu – I’ve actually always offered these – but now they are a little more front and center. We are coining these additions as Q on Call and Q Memberships! Read all about them here, see if any speak to you and lets chat.

To top off this sweet Manhattan with a cherry, we now have an integrated calendar system to make our lives sync better. Whenever you need to book, email me and I will send you a link that has all of my availability open for booking in one place. We can even set up recurring appointments for you, never worry about another appointment date again! Lastly, you might be wondering if rates have changed along with these updates. Well, while rates have gone up slightly by 9%, all existing clients will stay the same till 2019 and take a look at the menu for new client rates.

We couldn’t be happier with these changes, and as an ever growing company, there are more to come! We’ll keep you updated as we check off our list. Thank you all for your continued support and loving client relationships, couldn’t do this without you!

This season has been a season of weddings for me. Friends, clients, myself (sneak peak of my Ireland wedding with the image above) and I was featured last month in Martha Stewart Weddings in a piece by Ellie Finn on fall wedding tips for mothers of those betrothed. I often am asked to help clients find their wedding gown, prepare for the parties, showers, and honeymoon. But family is usually a big part of the day too, and it’s best (and less stressful) to make sure Moms feel prepared for the day. So if you know someone getting married, a few tips and tricks could be just the thing to ease the jitters and make sure everything and everyone is taken care of on time.

Tommy Napoli is back at the Beauty Corner to share his recommendations for simply beautiful winter skin. Tommy, a New York City makeup artist and consultant, has been creating beauty his entire life. If you didn’t get introduced already in my last blog post, take a peek here.

KQ: Welcome back Tommy! I’m trying to streamline life right now, to that end – what are your winter beauty tips?
TN: When we move into winter, our skin can turn dull and chapped from central heat and wind. So I’d put down your foaming face wash, get a humidifier–– and keep exfoliating.  Exfoliation is an important cornerstone to any skincare routine, and I rely on liquid exfoliants in particular when helping to get clients’ skin (and my own) in top shape.

KQ: My humidifier is constantly going! But my skin can still get parched in winter and also I don’t like wearing makeup because I’m all bundled up.
TN: Exactly. Incorporating a brightening liquid exfoliant, like one from the Biologique Recherche’s line, can help your skin hydrate and look better with less makeup, and help your skin get top effectiveness from your existing skincare. I’ve seen clients go from foundation to tinted moisturizer in just a few weeks.

KQ: Yes, I’ve been using their P50V for a while – though not routinely. How do you recommend using?
TN: You can use this with your routine 2-3 nights a week. No need to overdo it. KQ: I did NOT know this! Fascinating.

I hope you had a wonderful summer! In New York it seemed to happen in fits and starts but you can tell from parents’ happy faces – fall is here. Seemed all too fast! But, hopefully the fall inspiration in this newsletter makes putting away your sandals and sundresses a little easier.
