The ABCerums

The Abnormal Beauty Company, also known as Deciem, is the umbrella brand of a few lines changing the beauty industry. It is cruelty free skincare, with stripped-down almost generic looking packaging, has no misleading ingredients. Simply, their goal is to offer quality, targeted products at sensible prices. It was such a novel idea, that Estée Lauder invested in the small but fast growing company back in 2017. Clearly, Deciem is on to something.

Your skin needs can change from day to day and it’s nice to be able to target accordingly and not over complicate things.  The Ordinary brand has attracted legions of die-hard devotees and is where I found a number of budget friendly serums, many start at $6 and their most expensive is $29, that can address my specific needs as they arise.  While you won’t break the bank going crazy with their products, here is what I’ve bought more than once and why…

Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG – After late night online shopping, this minimizes dark circles and puffiness $7

Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA – This reduces hyperpigmentation from the sun… and your computer $9

Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 – Turbo charges my moisturizer $12

“Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% – Improves fine lines and texture $29
