I just came back from a Closet Consultation with a lovely gentleman who always looked like he was in his big brother’s suit. In other words, kinda silly and quite unfortunate. A suit should up a person’s confidence and presence 10 fold in the 2 minutes it takes to put on! That goes for a man and a woman! But not this man- his look was majorly downgraded when he put this suit on and it didn’t do anything for his confidence.
I could grab fistfuls of the jacket at both shoulders while he had it on- which is a sure sign that this jacket was a BAD BAD Fit! Too big boys!! And the closet of ill-fitting items did not stop there. He had a number of sweaters, polos, jackets, and pants were all too big for him. He was under the impression that tops can never be too big and if a pair of pants are too big, you can just get the waist taken in move on. Not so, my friends. Not so. You see, one can take in the waist, but the seat and ahem get ignored, thus resulting in a pair of slacks that hangs low. Like the pants in question hung mid-thigh low. Not to mention that the legs tend to also be too baggy on a pair of pants that start out too big in the waist. Bottom line- pants that are not your size make you look terrible. That’s really the situation for all clothes. Buy clothes that fit. If you aren’t sure what fits, ask someone, a friend, a salesperson, ask me! Egad.
Men’s Trunk Show: May 11-12th
So… Men! Let this not be you!! In my efforts to make you look your best- I’m holding a Trunk Show via Trunk Club at my house on May 11th and 12th from 6-9:30. I’ll have a wonderful selection of jeans, slacks, khakis, sweater, polos, jackets, tops, and some accessories from lines like Ben Sherman, Perry Ellis, Life/After/Denim, AG & Sevens, Penguin, Agave, Baroni, and others. Please come and get sorted out! Bring a friend too! We’ll have the grill going and will be serving Brats, Beer, & Brownies to round out the evening nicely. See you then!!
