A graduate of Parsons The New School for Design, Turkish designer Gül Hürgel’s collection of dresses, jumpsuits and blouses inspired by the Mediterranean’s simple sophistication ends the eternal search for the perfect summer outfit. The easy pieces with clear references to the 50’s epitomize timeless holiday style – breezy, softly colored, and uncomplicated in linen, cotton or a blend of, keep you cool and your look effortless.  Her pieces show details of embroidery, ruffles, mid-lengths and most of them available as custom orders in different fabrics and patterns.

My favorites for a cocktail soiree are the Yellow Belle, Blue Belle, and Calla. Iris and Quince are timeless day dresses. And for a vacation getaway to Punta de Mita, my top picks are the Edelweiss and Acacia.  But starting tomorrow, I want to live in this maxi skirt until the end of September. Gül Hürgel is small, so her pieces are limited and can be hard to locate. In addition to the links, find her at Fivestory in NYC and The Webster in Miami or shop the trunkshow through Moda Operandi.
